First of all, we wanted to say thank you to everyone for the amazing support and patience throughout this process. We realize that it has been a little while since you heard from us in an official capacity, and wanted to update you on our progress thus far!
Last month, we were excited to announce that we completed final inspections and were able to begin shipping from our office in California. Since then, we have continued to ship new bottles each week and have transferred shipping responsibilities to our warehouse and logistics partner in order to scale up our capabilities.
On the production side, we started with two color runs, Monaco Blue and Seaside Mint. Once we were assured that everything was working properly, we were able to add in additional color runs. We are excited to announce that we are currently shipping bottles in every color!
Although, we are very happy with our progress thus far we were not able to scale production at the rate we anticipated. Since we started production, we have added an extensive quality control protocol which added additional steps to our process. Fortunately, we have found a good rhythm in implementing these steps, however it did extend the timeline. With that said, we will still be delivering US orders in September and anticipate starting international shipments at the end of September into early October. We apologize for the delay, and are truly trying to get the LARQ Bottles delivered as soon as possible.
The shake test (above) is just one of the new quality control protocols that we have added!
For our international backers, we do not love you any less. We’re starting fulfillment domestically, so that we are able to establish confirmed processes. This will aid in ensuring ease of transport and decrease the opportunity for further delays of the LARQ Bottle, especially when we are dealing with various customs fees and taxes, and complying with EU regulation on obtaining RoHS and CE certifications when shipping internationally.
Prior to your bottle shipping, you will receive an email confirming your shipping address, and until then you will be able to update your address in your Backerkit Survey or email us at [email protected] at anytime and we would be happy to assist you.
Again, we cannot thank you enough for your patience and support. The team has been working tirelessly to ensure that the LARQ Bottles we deliver live up to everything we promised and will not disappoint!

We’re excited to let you all know that our first shipment has left our manufacturer's warehouse and is on its way to our office in California for final inspection! Once they arrive in the U.S. we’ll ship them out to our backers right away. As mentioned, it will take some time to ramp up production so we are starting with a small shipment. However, we will continue production every week and hope to get these to you soon.
We’ll also be sending out confirmation emails with tracking numbers next week. Please make sure that your address is up to date as well. If you need help, feel free to reach out to [email protected] and we’d be happy to assist you.

We’ve received many requests from you for the LARQ Bottle efficacy testing and we’re excited to share with you the efficacy data we’ve received from a third-party lab, Harrens Lab. Although we’ve done extensive internal efficacy testing on the LARQ Bottle, we also had plans to get testing done at a third-party lab to verify our data.
The objective of this experiment was to test the efficacy of LARQ’s UV-C LED technology within the application of the LARQ Bottle against water samples enriched with E. coli. The testing procedure was based on ASTM E2315 ("Standard Guide for Assessment of Antimicrobial Activity Using a Time-Kill Procedure."). The purpose of this study was to determine how effective a LARQ Bottle was at killing E. coli at 1-min, 2-min, and 3-min treatments.
As you can see in the chart above, the LARQ Bottle yielded a log reduction of 3.72 and killed 99.9775% of E. coli at 1 minute. At 2 minutes, the LARQ Bottle yielded a log reduction of 5.66 and killed 99.9998% of E. coli. Lastly, at 3 minutes, the LARQ Bottle yielded a log reduction of 6.08 and killed 99.9999% of E. coli. Keep in mind the measurement limit of the test was 6 log.
With just the touch of a button, the LARQ Bottle will effectively eradicate E. coli as well as prevent bacteria from ever growing in your Bottle. We hope this gives you an ease of mind when filling up the LARQ Bottle with some questionable water, you’ll know you’ll always have pure water on the go.

We kept the video short this time but for those of you that requested the TL;DR version:
- We have identified the issue and are implementing a solution
- Expect first product to ship in the next 2-3 weeks (Kickstarter orders initially)
- First build will be Monaco Blue because it is the most popular and likely to be in the 1-2k units range
- Will take time to ramp up manufacturing line and supply chain but the idea is to build more every week. We will follow-up on the schedule for each color and region as we know more
- Efficacy test came in performing above expectations. We will share results on the next update
- Thanks for being patient and supportive. It helped us get through the last few weeks which were tough on the team!
For our Indiegogo backers, we will be locking down your survey on July 11. We anticipate starting shipment for our Indiegogo orders in late July/early August.
What does that mean for you? You have until July 11th to:

- Confirm your LARQ Bottle color(s) selection
- Add-on additional items
- Check your card on file (this will be charged the remaining balance in your survey)
